State & Private Funding Options

Jersey College assists prospective students in seeking state and private funding ("third-party funding") as an alternative or supplement to federal financial aid funding.

Third-party funding may come from employer loans/payments, scholarship programs, and other private third-party loan companies.

A student's eligibility to participate in private and state funding may be contingent upon credit scores, scholastic achievements, financial/work needs, and other factors. These considerations, as well as repayment terms (i.e., deferrals, interest, etc.) are established by the third-party providing the funds.

Students are advised that the terms and conditions of Title IV, Higher Education Act (HEA) program loans may be more favorable than the provisions of private education loans; as such, students are advised to apply for Title IV, HEA program, loans and other assistance prior to entering into a third-party lending arrangement.

Applying for State & Private Aid

Our Financial Aid Planners are available to assist students in completing paperwork related to state and private funding. We are available to assist you in completing such activities as: filing application forms, providing grade and course completion updates, and submitting other required documents to state and private organizations.

Please note: Ascent loans are currently available only to students enrolled at the Teterboro, NJ campus.

Receiving State & Private Funding

Students remain responsible for all financial obligations to Jersey College, including defaults by third parties with whom students have contracted to provide payments on their behalf. Students receiving private or state financial assistance for all or part of the cost of tuition and fees should submit a copy of their tuition reimbursement, scholarship, or tuition assistance form from the sponsoring agency at least two weeks prior to the first day of class.
