GRADUATE SPOTLIGHT: The Student Becomes the Teacher
In 2015, I graduated from Jersey College’s Ewing Campus with an Associate’s Degree in Nursing. At the time, I was unsure as to where I wanted to take my career. However, with all the valuable lessons and experiences that I had as a nursing student, I knew that the opportunity for growth in the profession was vast.
After completing my degree at Jersey College I went on to pursue my Baccalaureate degree in nursing, and then my Advanced Practice Nursing Degree. In six years, I have accomplished more than I ever expected, through hard work, dedication and perseverance. I am now an independent health care provider with a budding practice of my own, working with the most vulnerable of populations. I am currently completing my Doctorate in nursing practice and will possibly go on to obtain a PhD.
Within the last year, I have embarked on a new chapter of my career becoming an instructor at my alma mater. My experience as a student allows me to approach students from a point of reference, while being a role model to demonstrate to them that the sky is the limit. I support the students, while encouraging and pushing them to be the best and strive for more; I believe that my story and all the success that I have had professionally has been significantly impacted by the foundation that I attained from being a student at Jersey College.
